Steel Framed Gates
STEEL FRAMED GATES
Steel framed driveway gates with a wooden infill continue to become a more popular choice with our customers in recent years. The combination of a metal frame and timber boards offers a good solution for electric gates. The gate hinges and brackets are all made from steel and are part of the frame.
Gate operator brackets are welded or bolted to the steel frame in our workshops and no part of the mechanical system is connected to the timber.Steel will not move, warp or twist and is completely reliable at the points where gate operator brackets are fixed and under constant stress. The steel gate frames can be primed and painted, galvanised or powder coated to a colour of your choice. An inner framework is constructed to allow neat fitting of the timber boards.
We like to use good quality hardwood boards, Iroko or Sapele, which are machined for us by our local timber yard. The boards are approximately 135mm wide by 18mm thick with a Tongue & Groove profile. These are good strong boards and form an impressive timber gate panel which can be oiled or stained for a beautiful finish that really brings out the grain.TPS manufacture metal framed timber gates in a flat top or arch top design to your preference. You can choose to have the gate frame painted, or you may like a galvanised finish that will dull down to a mottled grey over time. The timber against the steel is a pleasing appearance. This type of gate is generally hung on steel gate posts which can be used to mount post mounted gate operators for your automatic gate system, or underground gate operators can be used to your preference.
TPS will be very pleased to offer you advice and information on this type of gate or visit you to discuss your requirement and carry out a survey for your new gates in the counties of Monmouthshire, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire.
